Rise of Smartphones and the Best Fitness Apps

at 1:30 PM
There is a huge land of opportunity right now with the rise of the smartphone revolution. An immense amount of opportunity and power has been placed into a device that is barely the size of your wallet.

We're all aware of the explosion of the smartphone industry in the past decade. Mobile technology is quickly being immersed into our daily lives, both socially and personally - this is thanks to mobile giants such as RIM, Google and, of course, Apple.

Smartphone users, in particular, should be aware of the incredible rise of mobile applications. With so many ingenious developers out there, we are blessed with a growing list of mobile applications that are geared towards making our lives a little simpler.

Think about all the photo apps, movie and music apps, fitness apps, entertainment and productivity apps and, most notably, gaming apps.

Take a moment and think about this. With the aid of your smartphone, you don't have to physically make your way to the closest bank to deposit a check - you can do it from anywhere you choose. You can quickly and easily figure out exactly what song is playing at that moment - no need for a computer. The list of advantages goes forever.

Since I am a huge health & fitness nut, I've been drawn to the enormous collection of fitness apps out there. I want to give you a quick run-down of one of the best fitness apps I have been using that I think can really help you analyze and track your running progress.

The mobile application that I'm referring to is called Run Keeper Pro and it's great for keeping tabs on your running progress. You are able to analyze exactly the duration of your runs and distances you've covered. You can also see what your pace was and the calories you've expelled during the run. When you're done with your run you can sync all your data to the Run Keeper website where you can view the history of every single run you've ever taken (using the app).

This is definitely one of the best fitness apps I have come across and the best part is that it's absolutely free. Thousands of apps like this are on the market right now just waiting to be discovered and shared!

Make sure you don't miss out on the smartphone and mobile app revolution. We are just at the beginning of this shift - who knows how far things can go!

There are literally thousands of fitness apps on the market today so finding the right ones can be a little bit tedious. To help you out, I've put together a detailed run-down of the best fitness apps that you can download and try for free today!
